Dace Johnson

Every parent wants to know that their child can gain the best treatment from an experienced and respected professional. Dace Johnson
is such a physiotherapist.

Dace believes that every child has the right to fulfil their physical potential no matter what their disability.

Qualifications, Professional History & Experience

Dace has successfully completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Graduate Certificate in Paediatrics and a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Dace has worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland for 10 years imparting her enthusiasm and love of paediatric physiotherapy to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students.

Dace has worked as a Research Assistant with the Growth and Development Clinic at Mater Children’s Hospital. This clinic provides long term follow up for high risk infants who have been cared for at the Mater.

Career Highlights

Dace started her career in 1978 and has worked extensively with children across Brisbane. The Multiple Handicapped Association of Queensland, Montrose Centre, Royal Children’s Hospital and Mater Children’s Hospital have all benefited from Dace’s expertise. As well as working at Movement Solutions, Dace works at the Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland.

Areas of Expertise

Through working in a variety of clinical settings, Dace has developed specific knowledge in children’s biomechanics, orthopaedics and developmental delay.

Dace strongly believes in promoting physical activity in children of all ages. She encourages all children regardless of their physical or intellectual standing to experience movement for sports, fitness and fun. Dace also believes in providing a family-centred service where physiotherapy respects the family’s values, visions and goals for their child.
