Paediatric physiotherapy

Paediatric physiotherapy aims to optimize a child’s function as they grow, irrespective of their physical condition.

The child with a neurological condition such as spina bifida or cerebral palsy, who aims to walk independently, play sport or exercise for fitness, requires individual assessment and care to maximize their function and minimise stress on their growing body.

Newborn babies with postural conditions are seen at our practice. Babies and toddlers with developmental delay or motor co-ordination difficulties are assessed and treated. Parents are advised and educated on how to enhance their child’s physical development.

Spinal conditions, poor posture, awkward walking and running styles are best addressed at a young age to minimise the impact on a child’s growing body and prevent long term pain and dysfunction.

Paediatric physiotherapy takes into consideration the impact of growth and growth spurts on the child and uses this knowledge to treat each child accordingly.

Our Mission Statement

"Working together to empower you to maximise your potential through movement"

Philosophy of Treatment

We aim to achieve this by:

  • Assisting you to achieve their functional goals
  • Acknowledging each parent is an expert on their child
  • Listening and working through your concerns and questions
  • Working in partnerships with families to educate and empower them to be the best they can be
  • Acknowledging the changing needs of families and individuals along the way
  • Being part of the team that treats and supports you as you grow and develop
